I know it was not the most exciting race, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. The last 15 laps was pure masterclass from Max to keep the car out the DRS zone not making any mistake and matching Lando's time.

Love him or hate him, you cannot deny he is the best driver on the grid atm and it seems imo that he is only hitting his prime now which is crazy to think.

Guys like LH and MS won most of their titles in their late 20's to early 30's. It would be a shame if Max walks away in 2028 because I think he has the potential to surpass both guys.

Oscar should have been given a chance to go at Max, Mclaren clearly playing favourites.

Kimi and Hadjar are both really impressive For a first season both are just nailing it.

IMHO, max kept his car on rails the entire race and Lando simply was managing the gap and keeping Piastri in check since he couldn’t close the gap to Max.

Max was really impressive this weekend.

Kimi also really impressed me.

I dont think Mclaren made a mistake in not swapping Oscar and Lando. and I say that because of how close these cars are to each other. at a different track then maybe there would have been Merit, but suzuka is different. you need to have almost a 2 second delta to make a pass stick because you need to be outside DRS for most of the lap to not get dirty air, then get in DRS at the detection point, get the overtake done. and if the car in front managed to save up more battery power they can just take it back on the next lap. so oscar or Lando, would have been no different.

how long has it been since we had 20 cars finish the race?
and how long has it been since the top 10 at the start and the top 10 at the finish is the same 10 cars and 9 of them are in the same position? hamilton passing Hajaar was the only on track overtake that happened in the top 10.

it sounds like it was a boring race but it was interesting.
3 races. 3 race winners.
lets just hope we have a 4th winner this weekend. I want 6 winners in 6 races.

The reason McLaren didn't swap lando and Oscar is pure mathematics.
By finishing as they did Land still has a 1 point lead in the Championship.
If a gamble with Oscar had not worked as planned it would have cost them the championship lead.
It is a long Season, no need for unnecessary risks this early.

Disagree, They could've reversed the positions if Oscar couldn't get it done and had the same result. If Oscar did get it done they would've had both drivers in the top 2 in the drivers and even a better lead in the constructors and buffer to Max.

this track did not allow for overtakes. Oscar would not have been able to pass Max. purely on the track layout and the way these cars create a dead zone behind them that removes downforce for the car following. it happens naturally as the regulation evolves and this being the last year of the current regulation that is bound to be as bad as it will get

i think ferrari had to re-evaluate lewis' goals for the season.
i know he wasnt the happiest that they had to lift the ride height.
maybe thats why some of the fan-fair has dissipated.

im not really a fan of 44 but he's quite alright in the post race interviews etc - unlike the two papaya drivers.
faces looking like lemons. you got second and third. be happy and move on.
very unpleasant to watch those two this weekend.

their car is considerably better than the next car - whoever that might be.

i enjoyed that snippet of alonso commenting on max's pole lap.

british media questions are worse than plain toast that been trampled at the train station.

Yeah I prefer racing where they try. Piastri showed he could get in range for an overtake on Lando - Lando didn't even get close.

Yeah I tend to agree, 3rd race of the season, give it a go. If it was race 20 and Max and Lando are neck on neck, sure play it safe.

Who knows maybe the pressure could have resulted in a rare mistake from Max or something.

That is one thing I appreciate from Max and that is the fact that if there is so much as a whisker of a chance, he will take it. Sometimes it pays off and sometimes not, but it is that winning mentality that is still lacking from Mclaren's side at certain times.

watched the qualifying and max was brilliant

didnt watch the race cos we play soccer at 7am but got the start and watched in between

all race it was norris 1.5s behind max

the highlight was the pit exit grass scene

but max is a beast

its early and they have a very fast car

they can afford risks and yes if it didnt work and they wanted lando in the championship lead they could have swapped them again later in the race

also surprised by the merc. specifically george.

that car seems to be a serious contender.

i thought that george ought to be doing better in it.
maybe hes distracted with all the non-f12 things he does - i dont know.

kimi is doing vwery well in it - and hes a rookie.
george has much more experience in the car and in f1

But the "IF" in your reply is the gamble they were trying to avoid.
later in the season they will try something if a similar situation arises but not this early in a long season.

Not a Max fan but you can't deny his class and skill, great drive and win. Yes, race was a tad boring, especially with only one DRS-zone and few overtakes.
Ferrari has to up the performance of their cars or this will be another season of ending in the low top 10 section in each race. This car is a donkey.

I see it the opposite. It's early on, they currently have the fastest car and driver combos, use it. It's not like they were under any pressure from behind.
