Lekker race. I said it last year, Piastri will be Lando's biggest threat this year and he is looking composed and fast. Lando should be worried and I think things will heat up nicely during the year.

If Max is not already in Toto's DM's then I don't know.

LH not looking happy at all, I think it is time for him and Alonso to hang it up.. seriously now.

Continued to be impressed with the rookies, Bearman, Kimi and Hadjar. Future is looking good.

Entertaining race.
Top 4 drivers are quite close - should make for a good championship.
Not sure why Sainz didn't take his penalty in the race?

The real sleeper is George Russel.

Hardly gets talked about or get any real broadcast time but is sitting right up there with everyone else quietly.

Hulk should be DQโ€™d based on thisโ€ฆ?

Driver of the day, for actually driving :

Oscar Piastri (easy choice by a mile) just look at Oscars fastest lap times...

Then

George Russell

Problem with driver of the day is it's voted by the public, so your favourite driver could be in the pits and crashed out and they still get voted for... even Martin was like, Hamilton? ok then weird ๐Ÿ˜‚ also couldn't believe the race director camera chap didn't even film Oscar winning, I wonder if he's British as he was clearly rooting for someone else hmmmm

They need to get rid of the Dotd or rather give it to the press to decide or something.

The weird thing is historically, the DotD as voted for by the public has always been by and large pretty accurate. Just this year for some reason, the results are out of sync with the performance of the driver who was voted.

Because it is crowd sourced on social media so even people who have never watched a race still have a vote and so vote what the buddy tells them too. It is all part of the Liberty Media Americanisation of F1.

Kimi Antonelli, Mercedesโ€™ 18-year-old F1 rookie, just got a new AMG GT 63 S.

Why? Because its 639 horsepower far exceeds the legal limit for new drivers.
Under 3 years of license experience = no cars over 105 kW (โ‰ˆ142 hp).

This is egregious esp considering all the multiple camera angles they DO have - F1TV have up to 4 in 1 view - main feed then 3 others feeds - why cant they broadcast this in instances like that - its actually really poor when you consider what capability they actually have on hand

Max dropping to 3rd wont go down well and might even get surpassed by Georgie this weekend.

If rumor is true, he has a clause in contract about driver standing position.

The top drivers always have performance clauses in their contracts.
It has never been a problem anyway if a driver wants to leave a team. Nobody want to sit with a driver that does not want to be there.

Also, Geez we only 4 races in and although not good, Max did not look so bad in the other races. All cars does not work on all tracks. Lets see how the first half of season go first.
