I quite like the obligation to use all 3 compounds.

Another idea would be 3 tire compounds - one of which is exclusive to qualifying and the other two exclusive to the race.

Probably 2 and 3 pitstop strats then. The tire compounds really should reflect a greater difference though.

that's pretty cool, all 3 tyres used... BUT the tyre company must make the 3 tyres vastly different from each other. Not a soft tyre that lasts 75% of the race and then a medium tyre which is slower... thats retarded

soft = 15 laps completely effed
medium = 25 laps completely effed
hard = 35 laps completely effed

It's not as simple as that. The tires differ, but so do the tracks. Some are more abrasive than others, some have more grip etc. Pirelli try to match the available tire compounds to the track characteristics.

Sure it's not simple but it's a little ridiculous they can't produce 3 safe compounds that teams can manage based on the weekend ahead. Heck, why can't it simply be free choice from the 6 available at the very least?
