And yet Rosberg won a championship off the back of some shuffling of the garage. I doubt there's an active attempt to favor one over the other but humans will be humans and there will be differences.

This is McLaren and there have been no reports of extensive behind-the-scenes changes,

Here is an extensive article with comments from his race engineer (Tom Stellard) about how the team has worked with him to develop as a driver. Specific to this season, they talk about how the TPC programme was leveraged to help him focus on some of his weaker tracks. Piastri himself mentions a far more intensive preseason as well.

This doesn't sound like a team that is out to screw over one of its drivers.

Here is a more recent article where both Piastri and Stellard spoke of pressure and how to deal with it. This was at the start of his dip in form where Piastri mentions his own ''scruffy'' qualifying sessions being something that he needs to work on, while Stellard acknowledged the pressure they are both under and how they need to manage it as it is to be expected in a title fight.

I've already pointed this out - Oscar has his own half of the garage. For any funny business to have happened, his own race engineer and mechanics would have to be in on it.

I personally don't have any horse in this race, but I does give me a chuckle to see how Norris has put a bit of a dampener on all the people that were piling in on him. He's definitely found something in himself and locked in.

As for the whining bit, they all whine. Even Max rants when he is unhappy with the car. Alonso has a catalogue of memeable, albeit negative, radio transmissions. It's just funny and the sign of a competitive driver who demands more when they do it. When Norris does it, he's a b*tch.

I suspect it's his face, he always looks like an annoying little bitch to me for some reason. Him, Stroluvich and Bortoletto all have that factor.

Haha, spot on timing to bring this doozy back.
It's a 6 month old quote but apt. IIRC he was referring to the core team management and engineering systems.

I've seen the statement interpreted as alluding to senior management and also the Italian media, as it was said during comments made against the media for how they fuel speculation and negativity around the team.

But there is truth that senior management could be the problem, because they have historically been a problem. Even when Enzo had his iron grip over the team, boardroom conflict and team instability was rampant, and likely by design because Enzo labelled himself an ''agitator of men'' who was known to be a master manipulator, paranoid, aggressive and volatile. He provoked and didn't even trust the people he himself hired, so you can only imagine the culture within.

Ferrari's period of success in the late 90s into the 2000s was because of Jean Todt. He isolated the team from the toxic corporate politics and cultivated a far more harmonious culture within the team. But that ultimately put him on a collision course with di Montezemolo because of the very toxic politics he had protected the team against. F1 success gave Todt a lot of influence within Ferrari and di Montezemolo resented that, so he essentially tore the F1 team apart to show everybody who was boss. And Ferrari have only won one WCC title since di Montezemolo broke the team apart.

Does the top management develop the engine or the aerodynamics?
How long has McLaren been bad? Decades? Was it the top management?
Seems Williams have very bad top management for years.
Maybe Merc should start firing their top management?

All these type of discussions always around Ferrari?

— Former F1 driver Ralf Schumacher suggested Ferrari should consider replacing Lewis Hamilton with junior driver Oliver Bearman. Schumacher emphasized Hamilton's lack of podium finishes and high cost as reasons for the change. Speaking to media, Schumacher remarked:
“Besides the fact that he makes a lot of mistakes, his speed is just okay, but not better.”
— Schumacher highlighted Bearman's impressive performance with Haas, noting his potential as a cost-effective alternative. He continued:
“And then I see a young Bearman working wonders with the Haas. He costs only a fraction of what Hamilton earns.”
“I don't know exactly how much, but people are talking high double digits, well over 60 million a year. I believe Elkann can no longer justify that.”
— Bearman, part of the Ferrari junior academy, has shown promise with strong performances in recent races. Schumacher speculated on Ferrari's future direction:
“I wonder if Ferrari is saying, 'this has been like this for a year now, Hamilton has basically stood still'.”
“We'd rather bring in Bearman: a young, fresh driver who drives the brand forward and who we can build something with toward the regulations of the future.”

Ralf was never even half the talent of Bearman, never mind Hamilton. He should stick to what he knows best, taking it up the, nvm.

Seems like it all went south after that. We haven’t seen another teammate even close to Max since Perez. Who wants to be Max’ teammate?
2022?
2020 - Max 214 Albon 105
2021 - Max 395 Perez 190
2022 - Max 454 Perez 305
2023 - Max 575 Perez 285

I don't see any of his teammates get close to him before or after it all went south according to you?
Also the year after it all went south(according to you) is the only year when his teammate came second behind him.

Stadig met die DTS ouboet.
