I cannot stand George, but his explanation on SkyF1 now that he knows the difference on the LED boards between yellow and double yellow is pretty impressive and the fact that he saw the board flashing single yellow so knew a small lift would suffice makes him deserve that pole. Rules are rules.

Maybe a precautionary gearbox swap and body parts should be ok even with the new upgrades at least his teammate hasn't chewed through any.
