F1 2026

Who's heading to Rwanda then?

"F1 is set to return to Africa after 37 years, with Rwanda expected to join the calendar in 2030.

An agreement has reportedly been reached for a new permanent circuit to be built around 40km from Kigali.

An official announcement could come later this year."
Oh well, Kyalami's only hope will be the backup when their track isn't ready.

Don't bet on it. Rwanda has been not-so-subtly positioning itself as the new major African geopolitical power for a while now, and their president has been extremely vocal about hosting F1.

So the political will and the stage coffers are fully backing this.

So now they are adding African war Zones to the calendar, obviously the Middle East war zones are not causing sufficient tension.
