F1 2026

Few years back: Car's can't last long enough in dirty air to even try to overtake - boring
Now: Too much of a speed difference to try to defend an overtake. - boring
It's an artificial speed difference now. They need to increase the generation capacity of these cars

That the Ferrari's are managing to be somewhat competive against Merc even with the engine deficit is quite something.

Have to wonder what sort of times they would be achieving if had the same engine performance.

Purely from a curiousity on performance, lap times, what the nee regs actually capable of.

As for overtakes. Im actually somewhat intrigued to see how it continues, as drivers adapt and figure it out develop their understanding and skillsets around the new cars. Artificial at present, sure, but is that soley due to cars, or we seeing drivers needing to grow into the new reg's too, probably a mix of both.

One could for instance argue that defending has been artificially easy for years too with prior cars

Qualifying used to be exciting. You could see how a driver is pushing beyond the limits and know he is going to be close to pole. now its just like who can manage the battery best

I am super happy for Kimi.

and I have been enjoying the racing so far this season.
I am not going to say I like the sound of the engines.
and I think its too soon to say if the regulations are good or not
