F1 2026

Verstappen racing won that by over a minute.

I always just skip through these and watch the start and pit stops, so I miss like 70% of it, but those starting laps between Verstappen and the Audi driver was pretty amazing.

It's the nature of the beast, but these GT3 cars sitting in each other's slips streams, setting up overtakes, passing slower cars on both sides while fighting for position just shows you how far F1 has gone from pure racing.

I lolled though when the guy at the end asked him if he swapped his sim racing for Mario kart 🤣

Christian Hohenadel, the team boss of Winward, puts his hand in his own bosom. „This disqualification hurts. Unfortunately, an error was made in the team, which meant that the race management had to exclude the winning car. This was the first time for us to take action with a Mercedes-AMG on the Nürburgring Nordschleife. I want to apologize to everyone who encouraged us.”

There's always a Christian involved...

In Formula 1, a driver can be multiple laps down and still score points, provided they finish in the top 10 positions. Points are based entirely on classification, not the number of laps completed relative to the leader, as long as they are classified as a finisher, which requires completing at least 90% of the race distance.

Yeah, tough lesson but it’s literally their first go at this. Still, tech regs are watertight and they should have got that right.
But, but, how is it racing when race winner isn't the team that finished 1st, but rather the team that used less tyres in qualifying?

Only an idiot would call this racing /s

one might say that they won EXACTLY because they had newer tyres than the rest of the pack which might have put them in a better standing from qualifying
