F1 2026

Great race, had a boring patch but picked up nicely and delivered. Pity about that last VSC

Vsc robs us yet again of some very real action at the end but decent race and strategies all round. Well done Kimi - looks like it’s one more week to wait. Max saved his ass with that great placement/turn in and Norris/hamilton sandwich at turn 1. We really need wider tracks.

Whilst I agree about Stroll I am not so sure about Alonso and Hamilton. A lot of the youngsters grow up dreaming about being able to race with and possibly beat their childhood heroes on the track. Hamilton and Kimi are very close and Kimi has specifically asked Lewis not to retire any time soon.
As for Alonso many of the young drivers look up to him for inspiration and the fact that he is in a slower car gives them all an ego boost if they can beat him.
Maybe the FIA or FoM should set a compulsory retirement age but I doubt they will, especially with the Likes of Hamilton who is still in the fight.

Hamilton is still in the fight yes, sort of.

But in my opinion the second he falls behind his younger team mates by a big-ish margin he should go. Alonso should have been gone a long time ago already.

If they’re in the top 10 at the end of the season they’re perfectly fine imho.

Maybe the requirement should be top 6.
