Facebook is making its own mobile operating system

Facebook Inc. is building its own operating-system software to decrease its future dependence on rivals like Apple Inc. and Google, owners of the world’s most popular mobile operating systems.

The planned operating system, earlier reported by The Information, would be focused more on future products, such as augmented-reality glasses, according to a Facebook spokeswoman.

Facebook has shared plans to build this type of glasses, with software built in, but the social-media giant is likely years away from launching anything in this area.

Facebook is already stealing all your personal info and selling to other parties. Imagine if they have their own OS.................

Yeah, I mean Apple and Google are such upstanding, privacy orientated companies.

Yeah yeah, this is exactly what we need in the age of privacy concerns and data breaches: ReactOS.
Well if they get the people who are in charge of React to do it, it would actually be a fairly decent piece of software. I have been liking what they have been doing with their shift to declarative programming and hooks.

TIL: There's somebody out there that likes React.

In a Stockholm syndrome sort of way.

We have been slowly moving over all our components over to their functional equivalents and it really does make things much cleaner...

Real question: Is that because you're moving to React specifically or because it is a bit of a "rewrite"?
