Facebook pilots charging users to send certain messages

I had no idea that there was an "other" folder.
Will check it when I get home to see if there are messages I may have missed.
 
Read somewhere, they want to add video ads on the news feed. That will be the most annoying thing to date on Facebook.
 
If they want to get greedy, ill have to suck it up and stop using facebook and switch to google+ ... Pitty as i also dont like google for filtering searches aswell....
 
Makes sense for them to want to try this. It is basically a priority privilege messaging service. Not affecting current normal users at all....
 
Facebook is actually in trouble... and I said this long ago... it was severely over valued when it went public for a value of $70 Billion.
Now they are struggling for ways to prove their profitability.
All the privacy changes, paid advertising changes, and the recent hoo-hah with Instagram all prove this.
The problem is that more and more people are accessing Facebook on their mobiles all the time and facebook has not yet figured out how to advertise to those mobile users.
What do you do, if the largest portion of your users never even see the adverts?
I still use Facebook for now... but I predict a crash, or at least a massive devaluing pretty soon!

Let's get a bit technical and see if we can't help Zucky here.

Isn't it all about physical advertisement placements?
Top left, down, inbetween feeds, walls, crappolas and so on. No not there, it's not on the FB heat map, place it there (etc.)
Where is his marketing department? Where are his analysts. It seems like it's just a bunch of developers that don't know 2 ticks about advertising, marketing or how to make it work.

Why is Google ads so popular? It's non invasive. It's free to consume. Fairly safe and it's not in your face.

So with the simplest of explanations I gave above why does a Billion(s) dollar company like Facebook not get it right?

It's appalling to say the least.
 
I would just stop using it altogether. I guess some people are addicted to FB though.

Yip but to be honest, I am getting bloody irritated with it, I just had to change a fortune of photos as they were all now public. I do not want people seeing stuff about me. If you want to look, request friendship.
