I received a mail from mweb telling me I have used 70% of my capp and if I don't lower my my usage they will slow down my connection, I have a capped contract of 500 gb day 500 gb night, I have only used 70% of my day and I have passed 24 days in the month. Any one else experience this.

They just make it up as they go along, https://mybroadband.co.za/news/broa...an-isps-fair-usage-levels-and-throttling.html

Htf can they even have such a thing on a capped product? :wtf:

From another thread that the Mweb help stated:

I do wonder at that 40Mbps ADSL.

EDIT:
We won't go into huge detail on this but the estimate for the average ADSL packet headed for the Internet is that it is carrying about a 16%-20% overhead. That means that if you for example run a speed test on a 4mbps ADSL line (4096kbps) that a result of around 3.4 – 3.6mbp is actually perfectly normal.
The above looks familiar from their site, I could swear I wrote something like that with the same figures in regards to overhead percentages on a 4Mbps line ending in me saying perfectly normal...

Are you sure they don't mean soft-cap for your 500GB?
