Mweb misled me

I received a sales call from Mweb and I told the agent that my tenant has fibre in the outbuilding and I want a seperate line for the main building, I clearly stated it, and ensured he acknowledged the statement.
So I took the deal he offered, everything went smoothly, I did the order confirmation payment, had my router delivered, openserve even confirmed an appointment for the installation. On the day of installation the technician came through on time and then he tells me I already have fibre in the premises and I was supposed to book a second line. When I tried contacting MWEB I get no answer to my call and the chat bot does not reply, apparently provisions is closed. When I eventually get through they tell me that it's openserves issue, so I call openserve to hear the problem is with mweb... After all this, today I get told that MWEB made an error, and they rectified it, now my fibre installation will only be done next year as openserve is on break for the festive period and will only do installations from the 7 January. From a seamless process to a nightmare.

Please advise as to my options, my first preference is to cancel the order, however how many years will it take for them to refund my payment for the confirmation of the order?

Don't stick with a shitty company because they might hold your money hostage. That's terrible logic. Cancel, find another ISP & preferably one of the few that have reps on this forum.

Can I cancel with mweb, and move to another isp, I don't think my problem is going to be solved, but I don't want to be in a position that I will be charged by them and another isp, and I don't want any more delays, as it is I have accepted that I will not be getting fibre this year

Is openserve closed over the festive period in regards to new installations?

It's not "closed" but there is a network freeze that runs usually a week or so before Christmas to 2 weeks into January (depending how the weekends fall) - and it's common across the industry. Usually no new builds or changes are possible and everything slows down as the technicians who are working during the period are focused on high priority calls eg. repairs etc. You should focus your frustration on MWEB.

Most ISP misleads more or less. They attract customers with discount for few months thereafter you will be charged double of that as normal month to month.

< I'm not a ISP per say but I am a WISP. Pretoria WISP

I'd have phoned us or Level 7 or any other DSTV guy could run a cable just made it easier than what it is.

I cancelled with mweb, however I was told that a cancellation agent will call me, how long will this take?
