Hi Everyone

Recently I started a new service where visitors can check on the validity of pageranks of domain names.

I saw a steap increase in fake pagerank scams and thought such service could be useful.

Before buying a domain you can verify the validity of the pagerank of such domain. There are also some other useful tools such as Whois lookup, IPWhois lookup or Reverse IP Address lookup.

All tools support virtually all domain extensions, including .co.za.

Hope you will find it useful!

I just have to add, for those who want to buy a domain based on pagerank, make sure you get the content with it. Because as soon as you take it over and there's no content, you start losing some serious PageRank.

And for those who are still hung up about PageRank-this and PageRank-that and "OMG I need mah PageRank".... PageRank is like bra-size... it only indicates how big they are, it doesn't indicate how real they are or how good she is in bed...

how good she is in bed = organic search rankings
how real they are = discussed by Visser
how big they are ... well.. it's Page Rank, the bigger the better hey :p

To rank well in Google you need a combination of good back links (quality of back links is what PR tries to indicate, but having good PR doesn't necessarily mean you'll rank well for specific long tail keywords) and good content.

I agree with Acid: don't focus on PR too much, you're wasting your time and Google agrees.

I totally agree with you and AcidRazor - that is if you want to build your own website and getting constant traffic from Google rankings and hopefully earn an income from your website.

It is unfortunately so that the majority of the world's domainers and webmasters aim to get a high pagerank. The reason for this is to sell a domain or website at high price. When it comes to the world's biggest domainers and webmasters, none are interested in having a website with good rankings, as these people buy and sell constantly.

I myself like to buy domains or websites and focus on PR. After every PR update I am lucky enough to sell about 35 - 50 websites with PR 3-4-5. I earn much more this way than having a website with good SE rankings at this time.
