Fallout3 Bugs and Errors.

Exactly as the title states ... if you have played it, please post what errors, crashes, bugs you've encountered. Obviously no spoilers ... this is to help me decide on getting it or not (with there being soooo many games out see) :D

Any input is much appreciated ;)
 
I've played about 20 hours. The game has been very stable for me. No CTDs at all during play so far, but there is the bug where the game crashes when you exit or when you Alt Tab, but there is a patch out that fixes this. I haven't downloaded that patch yet.
 
Well, there was this one time when I fast travelled to the Museum of Technology and as my gaze turned to the war-torn buolevard leading up to the Washington Monument, the corpse of a Super Mutant, I had killed earlier, came cartwheeling through the air, like Toadwart being shot from a catapult, and lands at the foot of the Museum steps. I put a few more rounds into him just to make sure he stayed down this time :) The ragdoll physics can really do strange things sometimes.

Finished the game yesterday :D?
Apart from the crash on exit error, there were 2 bugs that annoyed the %#$& out of me. The first one concerns getting into Murder Pass from Little Lamplight. The dialog option to get the mayor to open the gate was NOT there. I tried everything, spoke to everyone. Eventually I googled the problem and found that many others have experienced the same thing. Eventually somehow after trying random things(Reloading, Changing active quest etc.) the dialog option was suddenly there. Moral of the story: Save before you go into little lamplight!

The second bug was right near the very end. The robot got stuck about halfway to Jefferson Memorial and refused to move. (I couldn't walk past it as the game conveniently creates an invisible wall to prevent you from running ahead). Eventually I found a way around the invisible barrier (had to jump in the sea) but the robot still refused to move. So I had to go ahead and clear the way to Jefferson Memorial completely by myself, which was extremely difficult and took forever. Then I couldn't get in because I needed the robot to break down the energy field that surrounds it. So I trudged all the way back to the robot and it then decided to start walking.. I was highly annoyed and thought the game was just messing with me :mad:

I'm very bad when it comes to saving though, as I mainly rely on just quicksave, which is the reason I had problems with these bugs in the first place. It's a good habit to use multiple saves I guess
 
Have had more ctd's with this game than any other game I have played this year. In fact its the only game that I have played this year that has caused ctd's. It doesn't happen often , I have had 5 and I finished the game with non stop playing for 3-4 days but since none of my other games has this issue its noticeable. I had the alt tab and crashing on exit errors before the patch as well.
 
Didn't crash once in the 60-odd hours I played it (max settings) on my comp. It "performed an illegal operation" a few times though during ALT+F4 :p

Bug-wise... The caravans stopped appearing, sometimes NPCs became "hostile" when you walked into something on the crap-strewn floors or looked at something marked red regardless of your karma (i.e. they'd go from "Hi. Good to see you again." to "Better not cause any trouble." As far as AI is concerned... mobs running up walls and occasionally backwards and forwards before noticing you annoyed me a little... As well as them sometimes shooting at you when you're on the other side of a wall or door.
 
those bugs are still nothing major though, are they? ...... getting a majority "loved it" from all over the net.
 
the coc cheat doen't work well and i'm stuck at a blue shield thing at your dad's lab in the sewer not sure if this is a bug or just very anoying.
 
PLEASE remember to save your game before completing the main quest, I quick saved all the way, and the game ended... And I could not continue... Now I gotta start all over again:D
 
I had one problem where I got 'stuck' near a railway cart... i crouched, jumped, etc etc moved around etc, didn't help... I had to reload a save game from about 10 minutes earlier... I was so upset because I walked moer far! :(
