Good day

I just want to know if anyone knows the difference between:

COOLERMASTER 90CFM BLUE LED SILENT FAN 120mm
and
COOLERMASTER SICKLEFLOW 120 TRANSPARENT BLUE FAN

Anyway..

If anyone know.. please tell me :)

Thanks

Yeah.. I would go for the silent one too..

but why is sickleflow?

Just a name or does it mean more?

When comparing fans you need only look at 2 things

CFM - Roughly the amount of Air it can move

and

Noise - How loud it is

Everything being equal then you look at bearing type to determine the lifetime before it'll fail

I see..

True enough..

Seems higher speed = higher noise.
Get a fan controller to control speed.

True..

Well the one fan i want to place in the front of the PC.. Because my HDD gets rather HOT sometimes.. so Kind of need like cooling infront to chill them out ;)

Kind of,not always the case though, the Fin design and bearing type have a big effect, and there are dampening kits that work quite exceptional too

are you tallking about the blade masters and stuff?

That somewhat increases the flow of air?

got the 90CFM coolermaster fans the other day for my thermaltake frio, sooo good, really nice and silent i hear my PSU and harddrives more on idle,

the diff between them is the curve of the fins, the 90s have more of an angle then the sickelflow so it pulls more air they both have 19db for sound and both come in range of diff colours, but the 90CFM are heaps better, would recommend them for anything, cpu cooler, case fans, and more

And static pressure if you are planning on putting it onto a heatsink

Lower speed can have its own problems, like blade resonance, which can be far more irritating even though the overall noise levels are less

I honestly cant believe that. CM fans are one the the loudest fans out there

thermaltake fans are much louder, coolermaster fans are silent as hell, the only fan that i know that is loud from coolermaster are the Rifle fans, the Excalibur fans are really silent, i can tell u that the 90CFM fans are the best fans that i have ever purchased

No they are not. You obviously have formed a very strong opinion, but the objective fact is that almost every fan out there with a non sleeve bearing is quieter than a normal CM fan, which mostly uses sleeve bearings. The Excalibur fan is an exception since that uses some sort of cool ball bearing. Even then, at 2000rpm and 85CFM, no fan is going to be silent

Of course total pressure is what you should look at, but static pressure will give a very good indication of whats whats. PS - did you simply use the first google result to find that link? :p

in my eyes that fans is best fans money can buy, they silent and still push some decent air, though the price is way to high :(

For a 120mm fan, these are simply the single best fans out there. Go check out youtube vids from martin someone of them, and compare to any other fan. You'll quickly agree they are the most silent at 12V
