My cronies? What cronies? As for tourists running scared. FFS xtermin8or. Are u completely incapable of understanding that we do have a crime problem in this country? Or are you just one of the Zuma sheep incapable of any independent thought whatsoever. There are several points here. 1. Crime is going to affect world cup visitors unless it is sorted out immediately (an overall reduction of under 2% is not sorting out crime). 2. Visitors to this country will never return if they are violated by violent crime. How many rape victims do you think will come back? 3. It only takes 1 bad incident to a high profile individual to seriously embarrass this country. 4. Crime is a reason for people leaving this country. 5. Tourists as a whole are pretty well covered at the moment. However, unless the security forces are substantially increased for the world cup, somewhere some kind of compromise is going to happen. I fear that the compromise will be to the detriment of the South African citizen in favour of the WC tourist.

This is a positive spinoff of the event, and there are several other positives. Just as you clearly focussed on the positives, at least acknowledge that crime is and will be an issue for the event.

I am a firm believer that politics will **** up sport in this country entirely and completely. Politics should stay out of the organising entirely. Look how political wrangling is causing problems in Cape Town (I cannot wait for your usual anti DA and anti Zille remarks which are sure to follow). Politics and sport does not mix, and we've seen this in every sport where the politicians are trying to get involved - from Rugby to Soccer.
 
I have realised that JontyB is not used to being challenged. whenever I pose a challenge, he ducks and dives and mentions all sorts of things like I'm argumentative, going off at tangents, etc. I challenged him to post his sources indicating that FIFA is regretting awarding the world cup to SA due to rampant crime. I'm still waiting...

Show me an example please. I have stuck to the crime argument over and over despite all attempts by you to drag all sorts of other things into the fray. I have realised you're nothing more than a troll who has zero debating skill. Much like xtermin8or - who is the forum racist along with Angelo. For the record: you're definitely no challenge to me.

Another norm is this forum. If you can't handle the heat bring up the troll card! I am also challenging you about the crime and the world cup! I posed the question, "how could FIFA award us the world cup if they consider us a risk?"

Lets just enjoy it instead of complaining all the time.

If you wanna boycott it, fine just remeber when you protesting outside, no peeking into the stadium!!:D

you see bageloo, when Jonty finds he can't argue a point, he brings up things like calling me and you and angelo racists, you see JontyB and others on this forum believe that the way they perceive things is the way things are - and if anyone disagrees they must just STFU, much like the Nats felt, JontyB and his cronies still carry much baggage from the past, what they don't realise is that crime is not new in this country, their beloved Apartheid government didn't protect us in the townships from crime, but made sure that their own were safe, suddenly the criminal element attacks them ( they are soft or easy targets ) and they think the world is ending, this Government at least admits that there is a problem and puts plans in place to deal with it, they at least tackle corruption and unlike the Nats don't sweep it under the carpet and pretend it's not even there

Now back to the topiuc, the reason that JontyB, and his cronies, jump at any opportunity to besmirch the WC2010 or any other positive thing in this country, is simply because they are jealous, they are jealous of the fact that the new Govt were awarded the right to host the WC in the first place, they are jealous of the fact that people like President Thabo Mbeki is so well received internationally, they are jealous of the fact that the black guy now their next door neighbour has a better car, house, and job than they do

Now I suspect that JontyB will reply using alot of FFS and little angry faces and stars - thats just the way he is - like in a vocal argument he is the guy that turns red, swears and walks away in a huff when they cant win the argument

NB : I have not said anything about the DA's incompetence, it is far too easy to ridicule them
 
I'm sure he is redfaced as we speak. where are those damn FIFA reports he's been reading...?
