I'd buy a hard-drive before the next dashboard upgarde.

http://www.xbox360fanboy.com/2008/10/09/avatar-customization-requires-256mb-storage/

The release mentions that (at minimum) a 256MB memory card is required for the NXE and Avatar customization, BUT doesn't say how many MBs out of the 256MBs are needed for the update itself. Technically, the update could use up only 150MBs leaving 256MB memory card owners with some extra storage.

Given the bulk of data and downloads these days I don't think the card is gonna cut it for very long.

ta for the heads-up ....... I was planning on being sorted before going online anyway ;):D

hey hey, now there's an idea :D ..... c'mon maestro, what say you to half price deals leading up to Xmas ;):D

I still have to get a HDD. Running on a 512mb mem card right now.

20GB HDD have been discontinued,
new pro console comes with a 60GB which at this point will not be sold separately.

Midigital is finally getting more stock of 120GB addon HDD;s this month, with an RRP of R1799, or on special for R1499

Yeah, what he said.

I only have 2nd hand stock ... once it dries up I'll also have to look at getting
R120GB hard drives and 60GB drives when available ...

Im gonna get my one arcade modded and use an external hdd.
Because i have a 250gb lying around and because i can!

You need a very specific hard drive model to work with the xbox 360. and you can get Live banned as there are specific ss files for each and every official 360 HDD.

Good luck with that mod ;)

I'm very interested to see what they mean by "make a plan" for people without enough space. The Arcade owners are fine with a 256Mb MU, it's the Original Core Owners that are going to have a problem with the original 64Mb MU. My guess is that they'll offer a free swap out to a 256Mb.

Microsoft just need to make people use there own flash, external hdd to store
additional content. That would be fine.

But alas i don't think that would happen at all, it would be nice, I have a 300 gb external drive waiting.

Do you have the infectus chip ?@maestro
