maybe but I have a theory as a white man
Our society has become so polarised between the us vs them and it gets worse by the day
Why? because there's no positive signals from the white community towrds the black people and im referring to the poor masses. There's no message from a predominantly white DA that says hey we want to work with our fellow black south africans to make this place better for all
Blacks stand together while us whites only look after no 1
This black t-shirt event caused more harm to the white cause the any good...who rocked up? whites in their expensive bakkies and tractors...the whole thing looked like a us vs them thing
I can just imagine being a black mom or dad or youngster from Nyanga looking at this **** going **** me you white people must come live where I live..
Or a coulred person from Hanover Park..no need to explain
Where's the positive messages for building relationships?? No stick with us vs them...thats going to work out really well in the end as this economy sinks

There are plenty of signals from the white community, from the sheepish "look at me, I am not racist, everybody be like me" on one extreme to the incessant hard work of the DA to promulgate equality, upliftment and corrective measures on the other extreme.

While I have my own particular views, ideology and interpretation of history, I can't see why you make such erroneous statements regarding the bulk of whites and the D.A.

Generations of conditioning.

If my parents view black, white, indian, coloured, paki people a 'certain' way, chances are that im going to be influenced by this mentality early in my childhood and take that on as the standard of behaviour. Yes as a human being you can and are expected to form your own opinion about people of different race, but chances are that you're likely to stick with the opinion you were raised with and most likely pass that on your Kids.

Its only been 2 decades of democracy, give it a Century if you're looking for that kind of change.

yes, but the brutality and cruelty that is Africa will take a millennium, 10 millennia without proper schooling (which should not be a problem as we have infinite resources, right?). Having said what you did, how long before perceptions of Afrikaners and Boers change ?

because it's true. ask any black person if he or she thinks white people care about the violence in Nyanga etc. If some of us or most of us care, where's the outcry to the government.
Black Monday was all about farm killings (of 99% white farmers).

From IOL..

“Genoeg is Genoeg” spokesperson Talita Basson said the aim of the procession was to raise awareness of farmers being killed.

“Our aim is to stand together and support farmers. We have had enough of the empty promises about crime. We are saying enough is enough,” Basson said.

Nothing about all the other murders and violent crime in the rest of the country..I'm not saying the protest was wrong, I'm asking how do you think it was perceived by non-whites
And this is how white people are around their braai fires and dinner tables.
We hardly know each others cultures , we can't communicate properly with the language barriers....we're not building bridges
After mandela no president pushed for building bridges, no party pushed for building bridges...something the DA should bloody lead in. Nothing.
And we expect what to happen exactly?
There's NO POSITIVE MESSAGE FROM WHITE PEOPLE TO BLACK PEOPLE TO MAKE THEM BELIEVE WE CARE

Fixed this for you, *******.

knowing our history, do you feel black people SHOULD care about whites ? this is not an evenly balanced scale Dreamboat, let's be clear on that
we ****ed up a decent number of black generations of which the result is very real still 23 years into an infant democracy
The level of hate towards white people SHOULD be very high. I'm still surprise we didn't get wiped out after Mandela became president...
we have yet to win the trust of our black brothers and sisters...the onus rests on our side

summing up; blacks have licence not to care about whites in SA in my opinion, yet many do--don't know why but anyway

Yeah agree bit then let's call it what it is.....genocide of a group of people
And the and couldn't give 2 fks about it or they would never have disbanded units to stop this or they would call in the army
It serves a good purpose for them they are getting the land one way or another

Who's this "they"? Which land is he getting? How is it possible?

The idea was to replace the Commando system with dedicated police department; not sure if this came to fruition. Furthermore, I don't think there was provision for the system in the constitution and the fact that the system could be misused for political purposed further led to its demise.

The land part? Who are these land recipients you referred to?

You seem to forget farm workers are exposed to same dangers farmers are exposed to. Your conspiracy falls flat without any evidence of government involvement.

Tell me then how many farm workers have been tortured ?
In all these attacks and there are thousands. How many have been tortured like their bosses?

so then when an entire farmer family gets tortured and murdered, then an entire farm worker community(or just 1 family) should also be tortured and murdered, since you are comparing it that way. same-same.

I dont recall 1 farm worker being tortured, could be wrong, even if it was a handful it still shows this is directed at the farm owners.
