Farm Attacks

So thats ok. It's not torture if you are dragged to the bush in agony maybe pleading for your life knowing you're going to be shot? Only in your mind for sure! So being shot makes it all OK in your mind as that is not to extract information from you?

FFS you are such an ....whatever.....

Here you go and explain this one away.

The exception, not the norm. We've covered this story already.

Actually I grew up on a farm and the bulk of my family are farmers.

Keeping that kind of money on the farm is asking for trouble because you can be sure your staff know about it. Which means lots of people know about it. We've been cashless for years. Staff are paid into their accounts and payment is only accepted by means of eft or bank deposit.

Guns are stored in a safe but if you're already subdued you don't risk your life for them.

Pretty much every farm attack you read about these days involves torture. Thats why people won't just let it go.

That is great. If you can farm that way I suppose you don't get targeted. That is however the exception and not the norm. There is no way my uncle will drive 130kms round trip every other day to go to the bank. And that is the reality of about 90% of the farmers out there. You guys are trying to make each and every farm attack out to be racially/politically motived which it's not. Simple as that.

It's robberies with a goal to get into the safe. And as this last article attests they burned her with plastic till they got access to the safe and then they left not harming anyone any further right? Or was this also racially/politically drive?

Mods should changed this thread title to The Seriously Fudzy thread.

In almost all cases it's to extract information, not to appease Winnie Mandela as some might be believe.

Only you can think out such BS to make that statement. I asked another to explain her violent streak and murders, apparently condoned by the ANC and the population as she is still free and is regarded high by the locals and still roam high the ANC ranks.

The average person will give up any info when threatened with a gun. I highly doubt all these people hold out until they're actually tortured.

Makes no sense.

Not every idiot can be convinced, especially those with blinkers on.

And if they don't have guns? Isn't that the point why they are there?

Obviously not all are, but there's no denying that a lot are. The level of violence is just too much.

I'd be more inclined to believe they got into the safe but didn't find enough and so tortured them because of that. I'm yet to meet a reasonable person who wouldn't given up the safe key with a gun in their face.

This is the exception. Remove torture from there and it's a rape and murder right? Same as you have in any other neighbour hood in SA. Add torture and now you make it out to be some form of hate crime right?

Now read back to the top of the article. There you will see they stole you will take note of it saying "firearms" - They tortured them to get to the safe that held the guns.

So that's your excuse again. Most of these cases are the exception as they are just farm murders and not the norm by your and your ANC national standards. I get it well and clear. That's why you NEVEr responded to that post as its against your "norm" and agenda! I get it!

Let's be honest, Nelson's saintly utterances did not suddenly nullify more extremist revolutionaries' views overnight. Bring in to context the intelligence gathering of the late 80's and even early 90's where Constant Viljoen was assigned to farm protection. Did the intelligence gathering show that a more sadistic type of mere criminal are out to attack farmers ? I don't think so. I first became aware of farm attacks c. 1992 but it was only in c. 1998 that I became increasingly concerned when every couple of days a farmer was killed. Going back in time there were considerable less farm attacks and they drew much more media attention. The intelligence gathering must have shown something more sinister and it played out long after the farm protection programs were under planning/operation.

I have no doubt that pre-1994, farm attacks were used to push a social/political agenda of the then oppressed majority. Now, it's less about politics but more about greed, the white power groups think it's about race but the murders would be exclusive to whites. They seem to be exclusively white because the majority of commercial farmers are white. The numbers still pale in comparison the murder rate overall. I wish all victims got as much attention as farm attack victims TBH.

What happens when you don't have what the criminal element believes you do have? Then they may still torture till they're convinced or you're dead.

I hear you, yet have to say: I wish all perpetrators get as much attention as the Free State University scandal for example. You state your ideas very factually but a REAL objective inquiry may reveal different truths. So in a nutshell the white-power-tendency elements will be biased toward conclusions and the bleeding-heart-denialists to another with a mashup found in all degrees inbetween.

Only extremely sadistic and twisted people would do that. Of which we seem to have plenty these days.

That's the point is it not most of them seem pretty sub human. They also seem to take pleasure in having someone who used to be the baas at their mercy

... the bleeding-heart-denialists to another.

I have not seen any "bleeding heart denialists" either in this thread or in real life. No one denies that the farm attacks are brutal. Us "bleeding hearts" just want to point out that the brutality is not limited to white people.

"A REAL objective inquiry" is not necessary to show that both black-on-black crime and black-on-white crime in South Africa is often extraordinarily brutal. An objective inquiry would show that black-on-white violent crime is a tiny proportion of the total violent crime.
