Why did this woman wait for the gentleman to stab her first? Fortunately the other gentleman got scared and decided to run, otherwise... South African farmers need to get the message fast. Clearly, they don't want to learn. One day Malema will sort them out for good.

Her Sir name is Marlin or Marlein Ferreira. She got attacked by two African males. One had a knife. The other a pistol. She got stabbed on the side of the head while defending by pushing away the gentleman. Fortunately she managed to get her 9mm out when the attacker pounced for a second time. A single shot was fired, pretty much point blank. The bullet went into the side of the gentleman and got stuck in his vertebrae. The other gentleman was shocked by the unexpected fight Mrs. Ferreira put up and got cold feet. His firearm was probably all plastic. Mrs. Ferreira received treatment by the ambulance while the shot gentleman was taken to a hospital in the city of Port Elizabeth. The name of the hospital is "Livingstone". The shot gentleman is not doing well. The police is clueless as to the second gentleman or his firearm. That is all I know. Do you know more? Please share

There is some merit in criticising the victims here. In an ideal world, you should be able to leave your car unlocked with the keys, a bag of money and a laptop in it at a busy place and everyone that walks past and see it will just respect your property.

Too many farms still have absolutely no security. That's just not the world we live in.
 
Robbers cut part of farmer's ear off after robbing him

Johannesburg - A 66-year-old man is in critical condition in hospital after robbers cut off part of his ear after ransacking his house in Rietfontein, Hartbeespoortdam.
The incident happened in the early hours on Monday, around 2am.
According to Lieutenant-Colonel Pelonomi Makaumu of the North West police, the man who lives alone, was sleeping when he woke up to find two people he does not know in his bedroom.
"It is alleged that the victim was asleep when the suspects woke him up and demanded money. They allegedly cut off part of his right ear with a sharp object, took his hunting rifle and a revolver from the safe, a fridge, cellphone and an undisclosed amount of cash. -

Fighting off four armed men, the executive head of the Drakensberg Boys Choir School was stabbed 14 times with a broken bottle while trying to save his wife in a midnight attack.
The incident took place at the couple’s home on the school property in the Champagne Valley area of the central Drakensberg on Tuesday evening.
Sixty-one year old Greg Brooks was yesterday said to be in critical but stable condition in hospital, while his wife, Carmen, was treated in hospital and later went to stay with her son.
A source who was at the scene said Brooks was brutally assaulted and had sustained broken ribs and more than 14 stab wounds, inflicted with a broken bottle, while trying to save his wife in the attack.

It is believed that four armed men, all wearing gloves, gained access to the property with a view to robbing the Brookses and managed to make off with a VW Polo that has since been recovered, and other items.
“He fought like a bear to save his wife. The assailants tried to take her with them and twice he had to fight them off to prevent them from taking her.
“Despite his injuries, he fought on and put up one mother of a fight,” said the source.

“They ransacked the house and took two cellphones, a safe with two firearms and jewellery that they loaded into Brooks’ car.

“The school is on top of the world at the moment and for a thing like this to happen is disgraceful.

There is just no value or dignity left anywhere anymore,”

said Tungay.

Dave Cato, deputy head (academics), said following the attack Brooks was admitted to a private hospital in Pietermaritzburg for treatment where he had been in a serious but stable condition, until he was sent home yesterday.

“He is recovering well and is very upbeat,” said Cato.

Be careful, you will be accused of victim blaming next.

Anyway, some people seem to be of the mistaken belief that they have time to get a firearm if there is an attack. That is only feasible if you do actually have early warning systems in place, which is especially required if living in remote areas, the earlier the warning, the better.

Another thing is, some people seem to be of the believe that a darkened yard is best (it might indeed be if you have some easily warning surprises hidden in the dark, like discrete beams), so the criminals cannot see what they are doing, even someone who had a nightime break-in this past weekend. Yeah, how did that theory work out for them?

I wish there was a way to just make all these burglars and robbers die, SA would be a much better place.
 
Its too late. Apartheid and bad economy created and creates more poverty and desperation. Police are inadequate and not trained well enough
