“The pain was excruciating, and for nearly twenty minutes, I struggled to comprehend the unfolding events.”
Prinsloo’s hands were tied using shoelaces in the kitchen, the attacker secured her feet with a belt from her dressing gown.
They also gagged her with rags and held knives against her throat. It was during this menacing encounter that they demanded money.
Despite not bringing money home from the shop that afternoon, Prinsloo recounted: “They rifled through my belongings, expressing anger and frustration when their search yielded no money.”
Amid the terror, Prinsloo shared the horrifying threat the attackers made against her life. “Their chilling words, ‘We are going to kill you,’ reverberated as the knives pressed against my throat.”
The situation escalated as the attackers forcibly placed a green-striped bag over her head, demanding valuables and access to a safe. They took her to her bedroom, where she was thrown onto the bed.
“The fear that gripped me during those moments is indescribable,” Prinsloo confessed.
