hi,
i thought maybe it would be a good idea to start a thread to help guys get together and farm?
for instance just post your battletag, time u wanna start and act and difficulty

i for one would be happy to jump in and help some of the guys struggling farm act 1 and 2
and it would be nice to have some high level guys to farm act 3 with instead of doing it solo the whole time

what you guys think of this idea?

Good luck, I hope you get somebody to join you (while there are still players).

The number of hours played is still dropping steadily. Predicted to reach 0 in 16 days.
The interesting thing is it's not only the amount of players dropping, but also the amount of hours per player.

I'll post my battletag when I get home, I'm on most nights, either playing my main (Barbarian level 60) or leveling a demon hunter with my GF... With my barb I'm stuck in act 2 inferno...I mostly farm act 1, I'll create a game at the warden quest, then first do the festering woods (to get 3-5 NV buffs) and then do the warden and butcher, rinse repeat. So anyone who wants to farm act 1 or help me through act 2, I'm in:D

Correct me if I'm wrong, you're saying that in 16 days nobody will be playing D3 anymore, haha in a few years from now when blizzard have patched and brought out expansions (like they did with D2) you're going to look back at this post and just feel silly:p

Add in the 3 crypts, its usually small enough to get elites fast. And go 2 areas backwards from Leorics manor. These are also small areas with 2 elites, and there is a chance for the watchtower to spawn (west side of one of the areas) which has 1-6 elites (and resplendent chest), and its tiny so you find them fast.

Well farming is just silly - there's a video on youtube of a bot farmer pulling 60million every hour on 200 accounts.

And you bought a Diablo game expecting what exactly? Farming was a big part of the previous diablo as well, so I don't see the point of your comment, if you don't like farming, then you don't like diablo (diablo is not for everyone I admit) then you should not waste your time in a diablo thread lol. And if you want to bot go right ahead, let me know how long it takes you to get your account banned:p

Edit: I'm sure you'll find videos on you tube showing you how to rob a bank as well:D My point being just because there's an easier way to do things doesn't necessarily make it the right way haha

Ahhh thanks will do!

Well I think D3 will be kept till the expansion comes out or a major patch is released as it has fast lost it's sparkle.

I'm not saying anything. The gameplay stats are saying everything. Did you even bother to look at the document? If you extrapolate the curve and it maintains it's current momentum then yes in 16 days nobody will be left playing D3 according to the source.

D2 was a hit from the start and it's curve would not have looked anything like the D3 curve does. When D3 is awarded the most disappointing game of 2012 dishonour then you might feel different about your post :)

Terrible comparison on the bank example, but anyway let me explain it to you. Why do you farm? To get gold and gear, right? You want gold to buy better gear. Why do you want gear? There's no end game content so to farm gold/gear if it's not to eventually PvP would be plain stupid. When you waste hours of your time to do a tedious, repetative action I'm sure you would want some kind of payoff, which would be to pwn in PvP with your epically farmed gear.

Truth is when you actually get to PvP you will play against guys that farmed 60million gold an hour and sit with all the best items in the game. It's no secret the game is so easy to exploit it's not even funny. Blizzard tried to curb this recently (last week I think) and banned a major chuck of their legitimate players by accident. Error52 FTW - and then they went on to unban them. What a stuff up!

So wikkels spend your short time on this earth "farming", because it makes so much sense to do so :)

I'm not even going to argue with you, I thought I would talk a bit about D3 on these forums seeing that all the dedicated D3 forums are mostly filled with butt hurt haters, but it would appear you find them here ^^^^^^^ as well. SO WHAT if I enjoy the game, whats it to you??? There are plenty of games I don't like (games that are discussed on this forum might I add) do you see me posting on them bitching about aspect I don't like? Ultimately ANY game eventually gets BORING, most people complaining about the game has 100 hours and more played on a game, R500 for 100hours of entertainment is what I would consider MONEY WELL SPENT!

Well obviously I looked at the document how else did you think that I came to the conclusion that you're saying the game will be played by NO ONE in 16 days (I'm willing to even take a bet that the game will still be going strong in 16 months)... Oh and you are SADLY mistaken if you think D2 was a hit from the start, Diablo 2 lord of desctruction was a hit from the start. There weren't as many people on the interwebz back then, but blizzard got flamed just as bad for vanilla D2.

and again...
/facepalm

The stats say sweet fark all about how many people will be playing in x days time, they only say what has already happened. YOU are the one drawing conclusions based on those stats. Why dont you look at the SC2 stats... Looking at those you will have to conclude that nobody will be playing SC2 in about a months time either  I cant believe that you dont understand how stupid your conclusion is

and it's curve would not have looked anything like the D3 curve does.

You do realize because D2 was mostly played offline that determining an accurate "curve" for D2 would be impossible, but I can assure you a lot of people shelved D2 not long after its release, and only picked it back up again wen LOD landed, and that s the D2 we all remember and loved.

You avoided the simple truth: why do you farm then?

That's why I said "would not have looked" and not "didn't look". Understand English much?

The lack of LAN is also one of the major reasons why the D3 graph looks like it looks.

Sure it doesn't. Can you provide any source which shows the amount of d3 players going any route other than down? Have a look at the other games on xfire. They are all either steady, or growing.

The stats say what the stats say. It's not a rosey picture.

To get gold/pick up better items, so that I can progress through inferno, and maybe finish inferno with 2-3 different chars, after that I'll try my hand at a bit of PvP once patch 1.1 lands (and no not EVERY single player is going to be a botter, player profiles can be viewed as well, and you are able to see how many hours has been invested and how many gold has been picked up on a persons profile, so bots will be easily detected) and after THAT, I'll probably shelf the game until the expansion(but by then I should be close to about 300-400 hours of game play, so I would say I got my moneys worth). You do realise its just a game and not a job or some sort of sport????
