There's some interesting tech behind this. This test was done from my computer at our offices, where we have a 40Mb layer 2 to Teraco.
I can't achieve nearly this speed testing from a VM in Teraco, where we have a 10Gb interconnect to NAP and then to Netflix.

+1 how do i know im being shaped because ive done a Test and i get 2.5 Megabits out of this Speedtest Site. im on a Wireless ISP in East Gauteng {Vanderbijlpark} MiNet (Neotel) 4MBPS UNCAPPED UNSHAPED

Although we have better connectivity in CT the myBB Joburg speedtest shows better results...

Did not want to start a new thread just, but maybe add to the this thread for alternative to new test by Netflix. There is a nice speedtest on the Sourceforge website, which includes test for latency and packet loss.
