Hi all,

Last night I tried to play NFS: Carbon online.
But the lag was not exactly wonderful.
I currently use a 1GB SAIX account from WebAfrica (w00t ) but its the R70 account.

What "package" would I need to purchase from WebAfrica (w00t ) in order to get better pings etc so that when I play NFS: Carbon online, the lag is MUST MUCH less or not even existent.

I'm guessing I'll need a 'gamers' account which I've never used before because generally, I play on local SAIX servers but now I'm liss to play new games :)

Thanks

You could try an unshaped account. About R120 I think. I think the difference will be minimal though. Your dreams of non-existent lag are just not gonna come true. Sorry.

Seriously?

Because in NFS: Carbon, it has this like... meter, 3 bars, mine was ALWAYS in red (lowest bar) and everyone else I played against was like on GREEN (all 3 bars) and when we raced, the opposing car would jump around like a bloody monkey on steroids.

Playing online is alot of fun... I wanna improve that experience man!!! :( :( :(

its R125 per month: prepaid and multi real so you are not stuck with just saix or verizon. both back bones are accessible through adding .S or .V to end of your username.

You can reduce it a bit maybe, but the problem is the distance is just to great.

Speed of light in vacuum is about 300 000km/s. Distance to London is about 15 000km.

15 000/300 000=0.05seconds

=50ms one way
=100ms roundtrip ping.

Obviously you've got a bunch of routers and Telkom in the way so add another 50ms overhead and you've got a 150ms ping. 150ms lag is noticeable in RTS games and for FPS games its fatal.

The numbers might be a bit off (esp the 15k) but the above is why your best bet for low pings is to hop on a plane.:(
