If you gonna be using some Linux boxes, you might wanna stick with the default setting (FAT).

Fat32, since it's supported on linux, mac, ps3, xbox360, standalone dvd players etc.

Anything bigger gets NTFS.

Fat32 cluster sizes get quite big with bigger partitions, which means more space gets wasted when you store small files

Yes, reason being... below 4 Gig speed/performance gets the priority. Above 4 Gig file integrity and space saving get the priority.

Go to My Computer.
Right-click on your USB drive
Format
Select type (FAT, NTFS...)
Click OK
NOTE: It will reformat your drive and the data will be lost..

that does not work in all cases....

then go
start -> run -> type cmd, press enter -> convert <drive letter>: /fs:ntfs

ex. convert E: /fs:ntfs
