Am I the only person who thinks the Fattis and Monis advert is racist?

It shows two "larney" italian black people... singing all opera style... they seem like upper class and well to do people... then comes in their son with a dishevelled looking white friend who says nothing but thank you (gracias) for the food like he's never eaten his whole life...

Considering emailing ASASA, anyone have the same feelings?

You only see what you want to see if you want to see it.

I don't see anything racist about it!

I don't see anything racist about it to be honest. It's a crap ad, but that's about it. The pannarotti's one with the italian music/south african music combined with italian food/sa atmosphere was far superior.

You can't disagree that the black family looks well to do while the little boy looks dishevelled and "poor" (lower class)...

It's really just a cr@p ad, that's all.

HOWEVER, I am in the mood to be facetious here, so I am going to agree with you, and call it racist as well. My thinking behind this is that if the roles had been reversed, the ad would have probably been pulled already.

If the IAAF can be called "racist" for doing the job that the ASA should have done, and Canada being called "racist" for telling the SA government that they are not doing ther job, then by all means can Fatis & Monis be called "racist" for their ad.

My point exactly....
Someone said on the ZAsucks.com website "only whites are racist"... This is pretty true, loved on Last Say on Sunday when the guys are playing poker and the black guy loses and then Darren says, "oh no, whats that..." (guy reaches up his sleeve) "... looks like he's gonna play the race card" hahaha :D

Its the advertising style now days... white bashing.

It started in the time of Yebo Gogo, but it was funny so that was ok...

Then it went to the idiot white guy with the cell phone taking advice from the dashing young black dude... kinda amusing .. but not really.

from there its just gotten worse.

This is just the latest in (poor) attempts in that genre.

Its a lame advert but geeeezzz stop being so damn sensitive omg dude

I'm not being sensitive, I just find it wrong that we have to watch this...

I mean, i don't mind watching Julius on the news when it's on out of choice cause he's always got something funny to say like:
Where are all the white south africans? if this was rugby there would be whites everywhere. All white south africans are racist!
hmm... i wonder if the white south africans were working?? maybe its a possibility...

It's just something that i thought was racist but it seems most people are ok with it... oh well... easy goers, lol :D

Yea and so what...? If it was the other way around then it may have been labelled racist but seriously are you now trying to become like the people that you despise so much in the first place...?

If it was the other way around:
â–  It would be pulled off the air the in the first few broadcasts
â–  ASA would be investiging
â–  Julius malema would be preaching
â–  the list goes on...

Ag fck off to zasucks, here's enough of your kind already.

It's clear you just want to start a racial (victim) debate.

No this is not true, I have lots of friends who are not white...
I have nothing against them... and i am not trying to start a debate if you read my first post i simply asked a question to see if anyone else felt the same way as me
