Favourite coffee

I wont touch WW coffee again, had to replace burrs twice after separate batches had stones in.
I normally get from Mastertons in PE, they roast fresh daily.

Wow that is very rough.

Folks: staart supporting your local roasteries, honestly. Coffee beans are no good sitting on a shelf for weeks on end. The difference in fresh, small batch roasted coffee is noticeable.

Tribeca factory store in Centurion sell pods for a Nespresso machine which is great and cheap.

Stones?

Are you sure you SO is not sending you a message?
Haha yeah she is probably the most miserable when I cant make her coffee. But the woolies stone thing isnt anything new, heard lots of people complaining about it.

Have a Jura machine now and get "Dark Roast" from Quaffee at Buitenverwaghting. I have a monthly order and they deliver a 1kg bag of beans to me for R200

Far better than anything from Woolworths. A while ago I had some debris in the coffee beans that ruined a grinder. Woolworths dismissed it as not being their problem. I was told to stop complaining

Some of the coffees from Truth in Cape Town are very good, but Quaffee have such a comprehensive range I don't look elsewhere. I have tried 11 of their varieties and the Dark Roast is for me

I can, to a limited way, alter the way the machine delivers the coffee

Also, I take care to clean the machine throroughly once a month. Jura supply cleaning tablets but you can also dissolve a half-teaspoon of dishwasher powder

Pods are slightly more convenient but just do not deliver the flavour IMHO

DISCLAIMER PLS READ: b4 I get shot down in a hail of high velocity coffee beans and vitriol....:)

When I cant be ar$$sed I do occasionally make a cup of instant...so like to keep a jar at the ready in my kitchen.

Nescafe Colombia is about the only half decent strong, flavoursome one around IMO...
But a saw 200g jar of Antigua Brazilian Roast @ Checkers for R59.99 and am rather taken by it...

Anyone else tried the above or have their own instant favs?
