We still use fax machine, because it's more practical for our use. But recently we have a problem that to certain places there's always a communication problem, then the fax does not go through. But always just the same places. The others is fine.

Now on the other hand, I asked that places whereto we have a problem sending, if there's something wrong with their line or fax, and all of them tells me that it is just faxes from us that is a problem.

What the hell can a problem be?

Tell them to get a Fax to e-mail number that you can use as an alternate.

I did, but the thing is not everyone check email regularly. The orders are delayed, and in our line of work that is not acceptable. Thats why we use fax, because it is supposd to go through immediately, and orders can be processed immediately.

Is it possible they have ported their telephone numbers to a VoIP provider, and are connecting over a wireless/ADSL link?

Most Fax services running over VoIP and/or wireless are not very stable. The best way to fax is Telkom line to Telkom line. Even better is not to fax at all, scan and email, but that option doesn't suit many companies.

Another possibility I can think of is some weird incompatibility between your fax machine and theirs. Try using a different fax machine to send to them, and see if it makes a difference. Try taking your work fax machine home, and testing it from your home Telkom line.

Try narrow down where the problem is, either on your line, their line, your fax machine, or their fax machine.

Then lastly, you should try logging a fault with Telkom.

I don't understand why companies are still so backwards in this day and age. By not using a fax machine you can save a lot of time and money, not to mention that the output quality is much better.

Okay I know for sure that the one place uses a normal telkom line, and that they dont experience any problems with other faxes. So the fault must be o our side.

I'm also more ken on email, promise you. But I tried that numurous times. But the thing is the places we order from is not keen on that, we're talking about meat abatoirs, fruit and veg wholesalers, spice companies, between butcheries, etc. So we're not talking about computer savvy guys here, to be honest iis way faster and orders get to that companies quicker using the fax method.
