fax problems

i have a billion adsl modem/router and i cannot send faxes from my computer i read that you cannot sent faxes unless you have a 56k modem in your computer. is there another way i can send faxes from my computer i am using windows xp professional.

You can use an internet fax service but if you want to send faxes over your phone line you'll need a 56k modem.

Get fax 2 email and email 2 fax services from the likes of Webafrica and Internet Solutions.

Using an ADSL line ?

Get a microfilter.

Plug line into the microfilter & then plug microfilter into the 56K modem.

Sorted.

I think the problem is that he doesn't have a 56k modem.

Don't remember what I paid for mine.

my computer does not have a 56k modem in it and the modem/router i have is a stand alone one in otherwords it is not connected via usb or any other port except lan, when you use fax wizard it does not pick up any modems connected to my computer
