fax2email - I love it!

I recently subscribed to the fax2email service, put it to the test and it works perfect (and the fax message looks much better when I print it on my HP Deskjet)!

Fax capability was maybe the one thing that had me pondering about installing a Telkom line in my house, because it was extremely annoying to have to 'channel' all my faxes to our work fax, but now that worry is gone!!

Not to rain on you parade, just be carefull of spam.

Some ppl have had a lot of problems with spam after signing up for fax2mail, so just get a spare gmail account and set that up as your fax2mail.

I want to use it myself so let us know how it goes :)
 
@Pilgrim, I have a specific gmail account for my faxes, and for the first 3 weeks or so we did get some phishing scam e-mails, but that has stopped luckily

Funny, that. I used my regular gmail addy for registration, and I got nothing. And no, my spam folder isn't experiencing a sudden flow either.

I just find it strange, is all. Perhaps the source of the spam was not iBurst - although I don't doubt the posters that reported the spam in the first place.

Just a thought, and one that has been bandied about elsewhere on this forum.
 
I've got Norton Anti-spam integrated into Outlook on my home pc, so I'm not too worried about it, but will move it to my Hotmail account if it becomes a problem.

The fax service is very important to me...
 
wow.. Norton anit-spam.. thats prety impressive. But it'l probably work..

I also use this service, yet to recieve a fax though, but I havent got any spam from it yet. Maby it comes with your fax?
 
On the fax/spam issue: Logged onto my dedicated fax gmail account tonight ... 48 spam e-mails ... luckily they are all picked up and discarded by Google.

And the best of all, the only people that even "know" about that e-mail address:
1. Me
2. iBurst
3. the Fax2email service provider.

But I guess you missed the good ol' DOS days....

LandyMan, Im geussing it can only be numbers 2 or 3 on your list. Unless you spam yourself for some weird form of enjoyment.

Personally I think it would be no.3 as Iburst are probably just reselling the service and the money for it has to come from somewhere seeing as it is free. Therefore spam, its not that bad really. You get a free service because of this spam.

But could easily be Iburst themselves, if they are controlling the service and not just reselling.
 
Also very quick to register via iBurst's (www.iburst.co.za) web site:

Click on 'Your Account' and you'll see the fax2email service.

You just need to type your username & email address and voila! you're registered.
