FBI watching the web: Google

One good thing from that is the fact that they are 'requesting' information which leads one to believe that they do not have actual access to Google information. One always hear of 'big brother' having access to everything but seems not to be the case....

They need the formal request to make sure the evidence they give in court was obtained legally. So requesting is just a mere formality ;)

Yep. And it would look very odd if they made no requests.

Imagine the boring work the FBI agents have trawling through the 80% porn searches, 10% torrent searches,1% gmail, 0.5% cats and 7.5% YouTube videos (also featuring a lot of cats) on the GooglePlex. The alleged 0.000000000001% "terrorism" is their ploy to monitor everything. In the 1990's the FBI had the DragonWare suite including Carnivore and Omnivore, basically a packet sniffing suite installed at many US ISP's.

All this monitoring did nothing in finding OBL, he used old school couriers to keep off the radar.

TOR, Onion, the DarkNet...this is where the naughty people trawl. ;)

lol@fbi watching the web.....

trust me there's other organizations scanning the web, cell calls....anything that's digital. give us a real story!

Very sophisticated algorithms do the actual searching and pattern recognition. No FBI or NSA agents working through tons of data. The best of the best develops these algorithms and it gets updated all the time. There are outsourced companies you've never heard of and will never hear about that assists with the data mining tasks ... with direct access to Visa and Mastercard databases. If your online habits fit a flagged pattern other algorithms kick in to refine the puzzle building. Once active online and captured by the banks working without cash you are a known entity/quantity. And then you have people throwing tons of their personal info and photos on places like Facebook and fills in the facial recognition queries ...

Where were you when ...? They already know, but check if you are lying.

What often happens is that people get nailed for things other than the crime under investigation based on information spewed out from the algorithms that point to other misdeeds. The FBI may not have enough on Joe Blog to nail him for the crime they strongly suspect he committed ... so they hunt for anything else ... and tax evasion/fraud is a hammer that just keeps on hitting the nails.

I'm being watched? Nooit!

Bares bottom for whomever's watching .. :D

A friend of a friend's, cousin's sister in law, is travelling from Kathu to Capetown to board a plane. She will travel VIA Dubai on to Sydney, then to Tokyo. From there she will fly to Frankfurt. Take a train to London, then fly to New York and b@mb the no 2 out of the Hudson river.
Why? .... Who cares? It's just a river.

:)
