Please would someone provide the code/command line for the installation of VMware tools in Fedora 7. I'm new @ Linux and would appreciate your help.

Thank you.

Isn't VMWare available via the various "package managers" , i'm sure Fedora got one too? Ubuntu it's basically "open synaptic, select VMware and install" .

Also, maybe have a look at VirtualBox http://www.virtualbox.org . It is free [unlike VMWare] . And also works on Windows and Linux [so can use the same image from both sides].

Select Vm, Instal VMWare Tools ...

Then with a console login as root and run: rpm -ivh /path to the .rpm file on the virtual cdrom

What pojo said... After clicking install vmware tools in the vmware gui I'm pretty sure it tells you exactly what to do...

diabolus: If you're talking about beer, vmware is pretty free now too.

I know the VMWare Player is free, but last i checked the part where you make your own Virtual PCs wasn't free...did that change? If you don't have the image and have to install a Windows/Linux OS from scratch i ran into "must pay for this feature" issues on VMWare.
