Any other locks here using a felgaurd? just respecced at lvl 50 to get him and i really miss my Affliction bonuses

if you going to go for felgaurd spec rather wait until mid to late 50's (say 58) so you get all his abilities. He's very *** at lvl 50 imo. No intercept (best thing about the felgaurd I rekon) for example.

You'll make many a rogue think twice before they attack you if you have him out. Just make sure you park him a little bit away from you so he can intercept them while they try keep you stunned ;p

just remember if you going to go demo spec (especially for pvp) +stam > +spell dmg

Best advice I can give you is respec back to Affliction, and start getting some +stam gear. +Stam increases your damage via talents. Once you have a good set, then spec back demo.

EDIT:

Before you spec back demo make sure you have 5 spare points to get instant corruption.

hey guys

been messing around with the fel this weekend, and although i totally hate the fact that corruption isnt an IC anymore, this felgaurd is taking the mobs down quicktime!
He crits for 250 at least once per mob, and i find that he does so much more damage than the void(+150%) - although he doesnt self heal like the void so there is a little bit of downtime.

overall id say im pretty pleased, lvl 51 atm and taking down lvl 54 mobs with ease.

locks are OP...

good thing they didnt get any buffs 2.3 or 2.3.2

hehe

i have heard a lot about that, there seem to be two different schools of thought with regard to locks being OP.

I haven't played any other class extensively, so i have no experience to base my opinion of that subject on, the one thing i can say is that locks are a Fsckload of fun to play! :D:D

locks FTW!

P.S: at lvl 50, a 48 pally challenged me to a duel on a boat, only thing was as soon as i feared him he ran off somewhere and i couldnt get line of sight to cast any dots on him, before i could get to him my felly dropped him like a sack of potatoes.

Comming from a lock thats played all the way to 70 felgaurd is the way to go if you into solo content. Dont get me wrong affliction is very nice and you pump out the damage on multiple mobs but mobs tend to hit really hard the higher you go and all the drains dont really help. Aswell 70% chance to not be interupted becomes like 20% when you got 3 mobs on you and your drain life suffers. I would recommend felgaurd. If you run oom with felgaurd life tap, its not like you going to get hit neways.

i do like my solo stuff, and i am really really digging the fel:

click1
click2

he got smoked *but* he did a good deal of dmg on this critter..
WHAT A *** DROP THOUGH :PP

My shammy eats locks for breakfast and uses his pet as a toothpick. :D

Grounding totem = no shadow bolt, earth shock to stop those horid fears and tremor as a (unreliable) backup :D

Yum yum

don't forget the felhunters' nice little magic debuff function eh =)

My Shammy is enh spec which is really good against casters.

Usually they try to 'trick' you into using your earthshock early by casting shadowbolt. While they are casting SB, it gives you time to close the gap. By chucking down a grounding totem they will either stop to try wand it and fear you (which you'll interrupt with earthshock) or start running to keep the gap (or if they are really stupid, they'll keep casting SB = a win for you). If they start running, don't use frost shock. If they gap is still too great, I go into ghost wolf form (2/2 = 1 sec cast). As soon as you're on top of them, cast tremor and just wack away (dual wield is best here ofc - buys you time).

Also remember that the only instant interrupt locks have is DC, but grounding totem can also absorb DC, so don't afraid to use lesser heals from early on (you might even be able to fake it for him to blow his DC early).

Lock vs Shammy is a very strategic fight. The average lock usually gets into the same pattern while fighting/PVP and these guys are so predictable that they go down pretty easy.

The only real problem here is if he has a foul hound (and knows how to use it) and interrupts your heals. Those locks I tend to stay away from.

Eh, sorry for the OT.

im totally not versed in duelling at all, did you guys start duelling a lot more at lvl 70?

ill admit thou, that imp shocks bring a drop of sweat to the brow

Locks have quite a few interrupts...

Succubus -- Cant cast a spell if she is seducing you. Likewise if you are in the middle of casting a spell it is interrupted.
Felguard -- Very Situational, but stun does interrupt. Not really worth it, because you have to keep him far enough away from the other person to trigger charge/stun.
Felpup -- Spell lock interrupts as well as close down your school of magic.
DC -- As mentioned it interrupts. The only thing I use DC for is interrupt. The fear effect is just icing.

i love DC, cooldown sucks though - if only it was instant cast plus like 2 sec cooldown :D
