Morning Guys

I want to send my wife on a holiday. For a week or two.

Now I was thinking of buying her a ticket to go visit her sister in the UK, I'll stay home and watch after the kids. Now either that or send her to a spa or something for a few days. I haven't spoken to her about it yet as I want it to be a suprize. Now my question is this: what would the females on here appreciate, a trip to visit her sister in the UK alone, or a Mountain Holiday at a Spa or something ?

Any other ideas pls shoot :)

I can only speak for myself, obviously :)

Does she get along very well with her sister? Does she love travel? Then the UK trip sounds good.

Is she a beauty/health/wellness junkie? Then the spa!

Alternatives:
1. Something less expensive, but where she can take her female friends with - a girls' weekend.
2. Send the kiddies to family and take a break together with your wife.

By the way, my advice is free :)

Thanx blu.

I was thinking of maybe paying for her and a friend. I want her to take a break for it all, me and the kids included. She is very close to her sister, but I think she wouldn't like the idea of going to the UK alone. I know the place inside out, she doesn't. That could end up being a very borring holiday

Blu do you know of a place that will great for 2 or 3 ladies to spend a week or 2 ? Pref. breakfast and dinner included.

I once took her to Dullstroom and she hated it. Prob because I was fishing the whole trip :D

Maybe I should send her, her mother and my mother somewhere. But a Holiday with the Older ladies might turn out to be a disaster :(

Not really. But she has done allot for me and the kids :o Just time I send her on a nice holiday, she really needs it :)
How old are the kids? Will she be comfortable spending time away from them and putting so much distance between her and them (you too of course ;)).

Does her sister have kids? Might she conceivably want to take the kids to see their aunt/cousins?

Her sister has no kids.

The kids are 3 and 4. I think she'll feel un easy with being to far away from the kids, think you have a point. Maybe something local instead where she can just hop on a plane or jump in the car if she wants to come back ?

Might cost a few more bucks than you'd like but why not fly her sister down here and then send the two of them away for a nice long weekend.

...mmmm...

Now that is a brilliant idea. Only problem is: The whole bloody family would like to spend time with the sister, thus I will fly her down and then she'll be like fresh fish at a cat gathering :D

Damn this is harder than I thought. I thought: take money book a place and wife is happy. Clearly this is not the case :D

That's fine - that's why you're sending the sisters away for the long weekend. The rest of the time she can spend with the rest of the family.

You might score some pretty major brownie points with everyone :D

bwana's idea is excellent, if you can afford it! I'd recommend something in the Magaliesburg / Muldersdrift area. Not THAT much to see, but it's VERY relaxing

if you've got way too much money, send her to pezula in knysna, fly her sister down and let them relax for the week.... www.perzula.co.za

Link doesn't work :(

As for the idea by bwana. I like it. Problem is, what will I get for my R 15k ?
If I send the wife there at least she gets to experience UK a bit and see different places. If I get her sister to come here, my wife gets nothing except to see her sister :(

I like the idea but I'll have to think on it a bit

i've been there before, and OMG, that place is just so flippen amazing, just a bit on the expensive side. Oh yah, i was just thinking, just watch out that the wife is not going on the, why do u want me to go trip, is there someone else ?? lol... but i can really recommend that place. Let her fly down to george, and ask pezula to pick her up with their new Audi Q7's with sport pack :D in black, oh they look so awesome... and its right next to the ocean and she can go shopping in plett and in knysna, quick get a way :)

they also have a little castle next to the ocean, costing about 80k a night :)

That place is truly amazing.

So atleast i could afford to send here there for a weekend. I would love to send her away somewhere for a little longer. Atleast I have something to work from now ;)

I want to spend about R 15k as that is all I can afford for her for a holiday away. And it will be in next year sometime.
