Attempts by the government to change the name of Pretoria will result in “mass protests” during the 2010 World Cup, the Freedom Front Plus (FFPlus) said on Tuesday

Afrikaner lobby group AfriForum has also decried the proposed name change and promised protests during the World Cup.
“This organisation also intends to launch major protest actions before, during and after the World Cup soccer tournament if the name were to be changed,” AfriForum chief executive officer Kallie Kriel said on Wednesday.

mhh.. is this a threat

Why dont they just buy tickets and like everyone else .

Do you honestly think, I'll pay money to watch a soccer game? :D
I'd rather give that money to the car guard watching my car while I'm at a stadium watching Rugby instead :D

Ape , monkey , baboon .... whatever we dont care . Come the world cup , people from germany will be trying hard to say Tshwane .

actually Pretoria is easier, german is a gothic language similar to Afrikaans :)..........

in any case, there is no conclusive evidence that suggests that Tswhane actually lived...(just some inferior ANC complex)

That's odd - you really ought to get out more. There's a reason it's called the beautiful game.
Afriforum is now an Afrikaner lobby group? When did they change?

I can imagine the tour, "If you look out to the left, you'll see the rarely spotted Afrikaner protestor."

I honestly can't stand soccer :o

Sure, I watch it on TV during the WC. But to go watch it at a stadium, just not my cup of tea :o

We'll I did watch Man City at a stadium while in the UK, but that can not be compared to Soccer in SA....

We are talking about the FIFA WC here, not some teapot team in the UK!

what you cant stand is that they will be few whites in the game here in the Mzansi ligue .
I also dont like rugby because nobody shows any skill. Its a matter of who has the fattest boys when they lock each other in their dance . What also irritates me is grown man wearing small shorts like that . Usually they just pump the ball in the air and they all rush on to it . A few nightclub bouncers , a few steroids you are on your way to making a great team .

You have no idea what rugby is...

LOL!

You fail at grasping how complex a rugby game is and how much tactics go into it.

I will also skip the WC. I will not be buying any tickets. I am rather saving my money to go watch a Tri Nations game at Ellis Park.

Each to their own I guess, I'm not really a follower of either sport but I would like to g oto a WC match just to say I went and saw what all the broohaha was about.
