Would you know if there is a difference between replacing a decoder that is working but has reset problems and one that simply isn't working any more. In other words would I have to pay for the first option. I know they charge for the second option.
I still have one of the older decoders, 720i I think.
If you have decoder care it covers any problems with the decoder. My HDD was making a whining noise so I took it back, they replaced it with a refurb one. Previously my personall settings would reset themselves 2 or 3 times a week resulting in the remote eye not working in the bedroom. I took it back and they replaced it.
I would give them a call, they're pretty good with things like that. Just come up with a compelling story even if you over exaggerate issue. They might ask you to reset the decoder to factory defaults and try that out and if that fails take it in for replacement. I normally just go there and claim I've spoken to a call centre agent and they told me to bring it in for replacement even though I haven't
