You're right except I had to get a quote first for insurance purposes, so I ended up dealing directly with the co instead of using BoB.

Surely you can't lay the blame on BoB. This was purely the OP going beyond the protocols they have set up to protect him - trying to save a few bucks.

If you go BoB - go through BoB.
If you go direct, go direct with someone reputable.

I'm not blaming BoB. I'm saying that they should be made aware of the behaviour of one of the vendors using their services.

I didn't mean to say that you're blaming them. Just saying the OP, or anyone else in his/her/its shoes shouldn't try to find the fault there.

Hear what you are saying re the OP, however the added point is there is no effective BoB buyer protection in place do do anything even if the OP had gone through them.

Numerous unhappy BoB threads in place here which seem to substantiate this.

The OP clearly states that he made contact through BoB. He then continues to talk about the tardy service that FHG gave.

The reason for the suggestion of sending this to the BoB contact here is to make them aware of the quality of service that dealer gives. BoB will most likely place him on a watch list if this was his 1st offence reported to them.
It is but one way they can assist in making the buying/selling experience on their site better.

Please tell me that you have received the laptop.
I am in the same situation. I ordered and paid for a ASUS G750JX-DB7 through FHG and 7 weeks now and just excuses.
He even promised a bag. Dodging my questions and he does not answer any of the phones. I got a cellphone number from Mister W just before I transferred the money and that was the last time he answered that number.
The company I am working for is going to deduct the money from my pay and no laptop yet.

Ok so lets try and figure this out, what type of shipping did you use?

Shipping method Shipping details
• DHL Standard (12-15 Business Days) R100.00 for each item
• DHL Express (7-10 Business Days) R200.00 for each item

I don't understand this sellers shipping, R100 for economy courier? Is that even possible?

How it probably went was:

Shipped via post office ground mail parcel from the USA, went through post office customs that can take up to 3 weeks and then econo parcel to the seller tho then couriered it to you via economy.

He says he ships via DHL, so why did he not provide you with a tracking number the moment it was dispatched to him/you? Did any documents come with the laptop, could have been a case of waiting for multiple clients to ship in bulk?

Edit: Guys I am a bob seller, BOB is just a flea market and just because a seller provides poor service does not mean bob will shut him down that is why ratings are there!

They hurt sales, I have had negative ratings that pushed my sales down for weeks simply because a client expected something not advertised.

There is a difference if he said DHL shipping and actually used snail mail. That is a bid no-no for bidorbuy he just makes all sellers on bob look bad.
