i just saw mweb/webafrica offer fiber to worcester

so just wondering if i am able to get it,can u get the fiber from them and then data from someone els like its with adsl/vdsl

or does fibre work on a different system
 
depends on the provider. If it's Telkom you can yes. Just note that with every provider you are locked into a 24 month contract for the line and most even lock the contract to include data as well.

If you want a naked fibre like to use with any ISP then give WA a go, speak to Nicole and tell her you want to use WA Business data so you would like a line only. Worked for me.
 
thank you,yes the fibre is from telkom,had a look on the site but they dont list worcester there
but thx for the advice
 
update: webafrica says fibre is not live yet,wating for mweb to come back to me,been 2days still waiting :/
 
The day Worcester and Rawsonville gets fiber before Cape Town, Bellville etc.

It's entirely possible. In areas that have no broadband they are going straight to fibre instead of rolling out ADSL then upgrading later e.g. Robin Island has Fibre.

Worcester and Rawsonvile has VDSL I grew up there ain't nobody getting fibre there :P
 
the mall aria,have or are busy with it,but if that aria gets it it will exspand:)

also CW dont have VDSL :O

dont know about rawsonvile

i know telkom are planning 3remote arias for VDSL upgrade next year,but we'r not part of it :(

someone tells me they are laying fibre in the "langrug" aria
digging whole,with yellowish pipes,and with the truck that stand next to the road with the word "fibre" on
hope it true :)
want to go check for myself this week
 
Laying it down the road from me in Langerug, just hope I can get it and don't need a host of people too apply...
