Fibre deployment/rollout

I'm sure this has been asked before, but nevertheless, I would like to know what is the process for Fibre deployment in an area or estate/complex, specifically with regards to Openserve.

For example, in our estate, GIO are the openserve contractors, they have already put down all the fibre in the estate and are now just going from manhole to manhole to, I assume, splice these connections. They are now in the last streets of the estate doing this.

Now what would the next steps be after this, and how far are we from the fibre being live.

In our case it took just about a year after they have completed the fiber in the estate to the point where I could actually order it online.

If that's the case, I will literally move somewhere else. Projections are currently set for end of feb 2018 to go live, but so was nov 2017, then beginning of dec and then end of dec, then end jan 2018....
