Fibre drop out during the evening

We are on Vumatel in Bryanston, Johannesburg. Our ISP is Cell C and the plan we are using is their 20/20 unlimited. During the day it works OK but in the evening the performance degrades completely to where you get a message "internet interference - please try again later" or just "no internet". I have made many speed tests and while I get 20/20 during the day it degrades to almost nothing in the evening. Last night is an example where upload was 2.38 and download 0.8. This is probably due to everybody streaming Showmax, Netflix or some other streaming service. I have tried to contact Cell C but with no results at all- not even a reply to a call or an email. The same has happened with Vumatel which said that they are investigating this - more than a month ago.

My question is whether anybody else has complained about this? If so, was it a Cell C or Vumatel problem? It seems to me that the only solution open to me is to cancel Cell C and try another ISP. If this does not improve anything then it has to be Vumatel and we can try Telkom, which also has infrastructure in our area. This will take a long time and in the meantime we will have no internet. Is there anything else I can try? Can anyone help?

On My side(Auckland Park), CellC has no issues. Consistent speed and stable. The only issue I see is the spark of latency at random(from 170ms to 200ms) during the evening.

Thank you Dark Agent. I have tried to replace the router but that did not help. Latency is very good during the day (0-5) but at night it drops to 170-and up, or nothing. Do you think it could be a streaming problem (Showmax etc) and an overload even though Cell C and Vumatel promised not to overload the line? Thanks

You tube is a bit sticky in the evening - my wife is a great fan but has given up as she says it is useless to use our setup. Even music streaming stops and you have to reboot.
