Fibre for Africa

Hi, I was traveling home yesterday from the pretoria cbd, and noticed a lot of heavy machinery digging holes.. laying cables of some sort, this was happening all the way to my house in pretoria east.

I took a peek at the cables they were laying down, on it was written Dark Fibre Communications Ltd.

So I thought I would google about it and discovered this link

Does this hold anything special for us as consumers or is it just for some project of theirs..

Dark fibre are laying fibre around major metros for Vodacom, MTN and a few others (IS ???, Neotel???)

It's Captainwifi... finally he is digging up the roads.... oh wait he was going to use telephone poles for his fibre....

all i can say is the more fibre the better.

Yes, I have noticed that too. They are laying fibre all over my neighbourhood as if there is no tomorrow.
