Fibre in Ramsgate

I also thought we would be looking at days if not weeks of downtime, latency is a bit up but not bad but the upload speed is not looking great at all.
Yup I'm online. And yes you are right. upload not doing so good atm and latency also high.

Still, this will have to do atm until FF can sort things out. Not going to tag AfriNatic for now. Will give it a week and see.

Ok I really didn't want to but @AfriNatic it is currently very hard to do some work with this broken upload. It literally takes almost 7 minutes for a single 1.2mb email to leave my Outbox. If I scan and upload documents to insurer systems file sizes can go up into the 30mb, especially with photos accompanying claims.

Before I typed this post I already took a look at FF's notices and see they closed this fault. On their Twitter there's a a mention to another chap asking questions that the team was supposedly back on site at 8am this morning but no word since.

Please see what you can find out and notify FF that our upload in the south coast is pretty much non existent atm.

As per @AfriNatic response this morning.

The NLD is the backup NLD that has been restored.

If it doesn't improve by tomorrow I will log it for you.

There has been some back and forth with @Frogfoot Fibre but they haven't said their is issues yet.

Can you send me a trace route also to 1.1.1.1 so I can add these to the tickets?

Can you Speedtest Arihost Jhb server when you have a moment? Or any non local not in Dbn.

I test over 600 to MWEB Dbn but further and international is bad.

This is how long it takes me to download a 20mb file.

And why is there an ADSL hop in my routing?

@AfriNatic I need some help here. I need this sorted out. Frogfoot not acknowledging a problem doesn't work for me. I want an answer or I want a tech here. The last Frogfoot chap that sorted me out also lives here in Umtentweni.

This is a 1000/1000 line I'm paying R1600 a month for that needs service 2 houses and an office. I cant work. I cant game. I cant stream.

I want a tech here.

The adsl is just an IP DNS record and does not mean it goes through ADSL.

I can allocate you a public IP and that will reduce the number of hops in a trace route for a more direct route but it should not be affecting your connection at all.

If its not going to help then don't worry about that.

@Rayne @ronnie_94

@Frogfoot Fibre confirmed that the main NLD serving the south coast has multiple breaks. Currently the area is served by a single backup NLD link that is congested.

Below are the 2 legs of the main NLD that has breaks. Service will only fully restore once these NLDs return to service unfortunately. Currently service experience is degraded.

FRG2122564 Outage | NLD | Amanzimtoti <<>> Adva Port Shepstone via ADVA NLD 6 | Down
FRG2122537 Outage | NLD| ADVA New Germany <> Cato Ridge NLD 1 | Down

I have asked Frogfoot to advise. The links show as being down completely now. Looks like the only working NLD failed now. More updates to follow.

Thanks. Now at least I know why I am suffering. Btw my router is red now after giving me a public ip. I rebooted it twice already. Must I change anything my side?

There is a suspected outage and the Frogfoot outages team is investigating.

Ok so it was not the public ip but just bad timing then? Will switch to LTE fingers too fat too type and keep up on cell
