Seems like NLD issues again, latency a little higher.

Hi,

Yes unfortunately the main NLD between Port Shepstone and Durban is down.

Backup link currently in use.

Please expect degraded performance.

Outage | NLD | Port Shepstone <> Amanzimtoti via ADVA | Down

Seems to be back up?

Think NLD is down again.

EDIT: back to normal, latency was in the 30's for a few minutes.

I am sick and tired of slow PSN download speeds. Over 7 hours to download a 12Gb file on a 1k line? The next one queued is 48Gb so when should I expect to play that? Next week ****ing Tuesday when I have to work?

I wanted to moan about this last weekend already because it was the exact same situation but forgot. Whole Saturday wasted. Again.

@AfriNatic are we on our main NLD or still on backup? If on main advise FF to sort out their traffic on PSN please because as is its a joke.

We on the main NLD, as far as I know PSN has always had horrible download speeds.

I always had to use a proxy server from pc to ps4 to download big updates or games due to it, unless things have changed since then.

Morning,

I don't see any notices for the area so the speeds should be good.

Playstation downloads have been an issue in the past where the device automatically manipulate the TCP window size to reduce speeds when you are in game or running other apps and when the network might be bad or latency increases it might stick to the reduced speeds.

I would suggest using ethernet, force rebooting by pulling the power cord after the PS is shut down to make sure it's properly powered off and check if the speed improve.

Yeah I try every trick in the book it doesn't work. It'll start ok like up to 25mbps for like 10 seconds and just go to **** from there.

Its impossible for it to be (just) Sony because then there'll obviously be more complains which there isn't.

In all these months I've never been able to dl PSN games at my line speed. Ever. And that doesn't sit well with me. I went from ADSL to LTE to 1k fibre and here I am, still leaving my console on overnight to dl games. Its pathetic.
