Would be nice, but it seems like we have been forgotten. Telkom had a guy with a little stand up around the shops on Saturday advertising fibre, got excited till i spoke to him and the best they could offer is 40Mb VDSL which i already have.
Also spoke to the guys at the stand because I saw one of those pop-up banners saying Boltspeed Fibre Now in Your area. And then they offered me 40mbps DSL. Which we already have. It is really odd that commercial fibre providers have shown interest either. Sunset beach seems to have a lot of DSL users. Not exactly a poor-income area either if it matters.
Perhaps that's the issue. And therefore a low density area. They get far less bang for there buck. But, I think if they bothered doing a survey(looks like most of them are relying on user requests) they would find that most people in the area would opt for fiber.
None yet Amber... I'm following up regularly with providers. But apparently we are quite low on the list due to it being less densely populated than areas with apartments and communal complexes.
