Fibre in town, not on coverage map

Sent an email to Link Africa asking in regard to FTTH / steps on how to get an FNO to our neighbourhood. Considering there's already an FTTB infrastructure and we live in a fairly small, but dense neighbourhood. Got a quick response from them and said they will pass it on to the relevant department and will get back to me on Monday.
After n few calls and emails, it is pretty much concluded that if you want fibre in your area, you must get the community involved to sign up for fibre notification on the coverage map.

I made n facebook post in n group in our town to sign up for possible fibre installation, if the spike is high enough, they will look into it.

Update...

So I received a petition form late Feb from Link Africa, so send around the neighbourhood. From what I know, about 60 of the ±100 households completed the form showing interest.

I then received an email back from them about 4 weeks later, stating "Thanks for your interest - I’m fairly confident we can make this happen. I am going to raise the area with Bundu Networks - they operate in Amanzimtoti - and see what they think about the opportunity."... which kinda gave me hope..

Yesterday, I sent Link Africa an email, asking for updates, cause they've been quiet since... and then I got,
"I am sorry Link Africa is not in a position to rollout in Freeland Park right now."

But now I'm wondering... Link Africa's got a backhaul running through the neighbourhood. Good I guess?
Does that mean, any potential FNO can use Link Africa's backhaul and establish a pop? From what I understand, it is an open network after all.

I assume Link Africa themselves aren't interested in being the last mile FNO, but surely that won't necessarily be the case for other providers?

so much has happened in the last few years with LA, and they have basically stopped doing ftth. :/

but yes, an fno could come in and use la for backhaul - but it wouldnt be la ftth, it would be that fnos ftth.

since it has been 2y, and toti has received a fibre rollout.... did you finally get fibre from someone?
