Anyone know which provider is busy laying fibre in Welgemoed? They're laying it in my road currently - forgot to ask what company is doing it and I'm staying in the S Subs at the moment so won't be back during office hours..

I know Telkom covers Loevenstein which is the suburb next to us, so I assume it's them. Just wondering if someone knows for sure.

Hi,
I know this is a bit late but the fibre that was laid in Welgemoed is MTN fibre.

I would however like you to think about logging your interest for fibre in Welgemoed on the OpenServe website. Also get all your friends in the area to show their interest. I'm sure everyone here will benefit from it :)

Thanks, yes, found out it's MTN

A few roads are already up and running and I'm waiting for them to dig up my side of the road, I've already logged my interest on OS, but it seems like TI are giving us a skip because of MTN. Loevenstein and Welgedacht have TI fibre but as we have MTN, Telkom is only showing Welgemoed as a planned VDSL area not Fibre.

Latest WebAfrica fibre area map_CT Northern Suburbs_2016sep26.jpg Yes Blunt, this latest update of WebAfrica's fibre coverage map would confirms what you say about a part of Loevenstein and Welgedacht, but nothing in the rest of Hoheizen, Welgemoed, Door de Kraal, Protea Valley.

(Purple is already lit up / ready for installation, and the pink is planned for the near future - for the other areas there is no definite plan yet)
