fibre on during load shedding

They have power backups yes. Some more than others. Area and provider dependent.

Yes they do
Remember also just because you were being load shed doesn't mean the ISP or FNO were also being laid shed.
and you might be on and they might be experiencing load shedding or a Power outage so they must be online 24/7

Same way Cell towers have battery backups, Fibre POPs have backup power.

Just like cell towers, if the batteries don’t get a full charge after load shedding (like during stage 4+), the power backup may not last a full 4 hours (I’m hoping FNOs and mobile operators learnt a lesson or two earlier this year).

Vumatel trenched has a specific network issue where DHCP IP address assignments take awhile when bulk requests are received after a large scale power outage- this is not related to their power backup, but a system design issue. All other GPON networks are not affected by this (Vumatel included).
 
My fibre will run for about 90 mins then stops working, then when power comes back the fibre only comes back in 15 mins or so. So i assume battery backup ran out.

that is not bad at all, 15 minutes
i have read here on MyBB before of some ISP's taking over 4hrs to come back live properly.
Luckily my ISP has tons of power and i never experience any downtime due to load shedding at all :thumbsup:
 
My OpenServe fibre stays up as long as my UPS is running. My 2000Va UPS can run for about 4 to 5 hours.
