Let's get a survey thread going, what do you want to pay for fibre. Speed, cap, price, installation cost, contention, etc.

What are you willing to spend monthly, be realistic with needs.

Personally I would like to pay R3k pm for 100mbps uncapped. Or R1000 for 1TB up to Gigabit. Prices should drop nicely over next 5-10 years.

Speed: 15mbps symmetric, unshaped
Cap: None
Price: R700pm
Installation: R2500 once off, waived if 12/24 month contract signed
Contention: 5:1

I just want what Dark Fibre already offer - R1249pm for 100Mbps 1TB.

Hell why not.

Speed 100-500 Mbps
cap - 500-1Tb, unshaped
price - R1.5k
installation cost - <R2k
Bonuses: No contract; Network should be open access with multiple ISPs before launch.

Anything between there would be future proofing for 2-4 years after installation, might as well start sooner than later.

50Mbps
150GB unshaped, with 1TB Midnight Express
R900 p/m
R2.5k Installation

20 mb
250 gb, softcap
R850.00 incl one SIP tel number
R500.00 installation

One of my friends just received Fibre at an awesome price. Installation cost was about R2500 once off.

He gets a 10mbps up/down line unshaped and uncapped for about R670, that is not too bad.

Personally I would like to pay R3k pm for 100mbps uncapped.

I am currently paying R400pm for uncapped 100mbps, no installation cost except for router that had to be purchased for R400 as well.

As DJ once said, competitive collaboration ;)

The real problem with most of the fibre offerings is too little data for the line speed.

I'd rather have a 20Meg Fibre with 400GBs, than 100Meg Fibre with 200GBs.
