HI All

Was wondering what sort of modem you get with the different fibre providers - when they say "free router" ??
Are they all D-Links/TPLink ?

Webafrica TPLink C20. Was quite disappointment as a 100 Mb Fibre on a 100 Mb router. Poor router running flat out.

Most of them give low end 300Mbps/100Mb port routers. Good enough for the average user.

Vodacom gave me a Huawei HG659. I have no access to the UI, even changing the SSID and password requires a call to their help desk :erm:

Vox gave me a Huawei HG659.

However, I decided not to use it (poor wifi), and I use my own Asus RT-N66U router.

We put down a Mikrotik hAP or hAP ac Lite on PON networks and the hAP ac on active networks, simply because it's the easiest way to deliver native IPv6 to our clients.

We often see clients disabling the on board wifi and using Ubiquiti UniFi APs instead.
